Mark Thomas – The Red Shed, Junction, 22nd September

Mark Thomas – The Red Shed, Junction, 22nd September

The Red Shed is a 47 foot long, wooden, red, Socialist shed in Wakefield that celebrated 50 years on the planet in September 2016. It is the place that Mark Thomas first started to perform in public and where he politically came of age as a student involved in the miners’ strike.  This is the story of strikes, fights, and dinner ladies. Pickets, placards, friendship, love, history, dreams and above all, remembering. The show will involve the audience to recreate the shed and its inhabitants. Part theatre, stand up, journalism and activism, it’s the story of the battle for hope and the survival of a community in a small wooden shed.  Full information and tickets available from Junction for a performance on Friday 22nd September. https://www.junctiongoole.co.uk/whats-on/?pno=2
