Jessica Sharp’s Picnic in The Park 2018
Picnic in the Park 2018
Organising Picnic in the Park is now well under way. Jessica has so much to do but it’ll certainly be worth it for the thousands of people who will enjoy a great day out at West Park in Goole. Lots of exciting entertainment has been booked for the day and all will be revealed on the event’s Facebook page soon. You can expect bouncy castles, children’s rides, face painting, brilliant performances and loads of fun for all the family. This year’s event takes place on Sunday 3rd June from 12 noon until 6.00pm.
Jessica organises the fundraising day for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust in honour of her much loved Uncle – Phill Sharp. He was very well known for his dedication to working in the care community, for his exceptional musical and acting talents with Goole Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society and his superb writing skills with Castaway.
Jessica became an ambassador for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust after losing her uncle Phillip Sharp to the condition in September 2014. Pulmonary fibrosis is a respiratory disease where scars are formed in the lung tissues, leading to serious breathing problems.
Picnic in the Park is held as close to what would have been Phill’s birthday as possible, which was 5th June. The event is a celebration and wonderful way of remembering Phill by bringing the community together and sharing the things he loved.
Performances will be held from local artists and singing groups and there’ll be lots of activities to entertain children and adults. Bring your own picnic and share in a very special community event that Goole is very lucky to have thanks to the dedication of Jessica.
Jessica said: “Picnic in the Park is a great way to remember my Uncle Phill, while raising vital funds for a great charity. The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust helps people living with PF by supplying oxygen, stair lifts, scooters, assistance with things such as travel insurance, and a dedicated helpline.”
